Abstract

A recent article by Professor Luis Arenas asked whether, for the civilizational inflection we need, Gaia should form part of the new cosmogram (or conception of the world) that needs to be sketched out. The dialogue with this text allows us to review Gaia Theory, Lynn Margulis symbiogenetic conception and other recent advances in science. It is argued that the (convenient) questioning of anthropocentrism does not imply ignoring or undermining human uniqueness. And it ends by arguing that yes, Gaia must be part of the new cosmogram we need.
