Abstract

This paper studies the rejection of Nietzsche's philosophy and the philoso-phical-historical horizon of Gods' death in the work of Carl Schmitt. It also ad-dresses this rejection as an explanatory key to Nietzsche's presence in two of the major criticisms of The Concept of the Political (1927/1932): the criticisms of Helmuth Plessner in Political Anthro-pology (1931) and of Jacques Derrida in The Politics of Friendship (1994). The dialogue of such thinkers with some of the fundamental concepts of Nietzsche's philosophy would show the importance that the latter acquires for a critique of political theology.
