Abstract

Editado por José Pazó Espinoza y David Almazán Tomás, el libro reseñado reúne 101 artículos publicados por el hispanista japonés Hidehito Higashitani en el periódico digital El Imparcial, entre el 26 de mayo de 2008 y el 20 de noviembre de 2013. Se trata de textos ensayísticos en los que se abordan diversos temas de actualidad, así como de aspectos de la tradición cultural japonesa y sus vínculos con el mundo hispánico. El libro se organiza en cuatro grandes apartados temáticos: arte tradicional y contemporáneo japonés, comentarios sobre el Japón actual, relatos y experiencias de españoles en Japón y, finalmente, la relación de Japón con el resto de mundo. En la presente reseña mostraremos que, a través de un conjunto en principio misceláneo de temas, el volumen muestra una perspectiva autorial bien definida, que encuentra sus raíces, de una parte, en el pensamiento ilustrado y, de otra, en la tradición japonesa, constituyendo una integración genuina y dinámica de ambas culturas.
