La copla ‘María de la O’ entre generaciones: de El Molino (1933) a Menudas estrellas (1995)

Abstract

La historia de Maria de la O recorre el siglo XX: la copla (1933) se adapto al teatro (1935), al cine (en 1936 dirigida por Francisco Elias, en 1958 por Ramon Torrado), y en los anos 90 llego a programas infantiles televisivos. Este analisis estudia dichas versiones de Maria de la O, un personaje caracterizado por la impotencia, cuya supervivencia se debe a la transmision de la copla entre mujeres de varias generaciones que se identificaron con una historia contra el materialismo. La utilidad de esta copla para las 'ninas de la guerra' hizo que la compartieran con sus nietas.
